4 Re: The redesign of the Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts uniform

6 Understanding that the Cardinal Carter uniform is in drastic need of a makeover, as its 16
7 year old design was originally thought of in the 1990’s
8
9 Noting that the 1990’s was a time of terrible style and clothing, and that nothing good came
10 from that decade.

12 Further noting that many other schools in the Toronto Catholic District School Board
13 (TCDSB) have updated or changed their uniforms within the past 16 years, and that
14 Cardinal Carter has only made minor changes to the overall design and type of shirts.

16 Appalled that the Administration continues to persecute the many freethinking indivuals
17 Who try to spice up their uniform with “extra touches”.

19 Clarifying that these “extra touches” can include anything from decorative wings, brightly
20 coloured ties, white and/or grey socks, mismatched socks, non-black shoes and shirts
21 with funny slogans on them, to non-school sweaters.

23 Emphasizing that if Cardinal Carter wants to maintain its highly valued reputation as an
24 artistic school it must reflect it with it’s uniform.

26 Encouraged by the fact that the Carter kilt is still women-only, despite the fact that kilts
27 were originally worn by men in Scottland.

29 Pointing out the many different colours present in artwork produced in the school, and how
30 few of them are on the unifrom.

32 Deeply regretting not eating breakfast, as it is a very important meal.

34 Aware that while navy and white go together, there are many other colours that do too, and
35 that this is clearly a colourist point of view.

37 1. Declares that the unifrom must be changed as of immediately, to allow for
38 splashes of neon green, electric blue, panda bear black and orange to be added.

40 2. Requests that all students be forced to wear funny and/or silly hats to school, in
41 order to promote creativity and construsctive criticism.

43 3. Declares that breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day, after
44 dessert.

46 4. Deplores the cruelty of the Administration in their unrelenting punishment of
47 any and all who do not wear the ‘Official’ school uniform

49 5. Calls upon all Cardinal Carter students to rise against the tyranny that is the
50 uniform.

52 6. Decides to remain actively seized of the matter.
